Mick Jagger, lead singer of The Rolling Stones, announced today that he was adding his world-famous voice to the 1GOAL: Education for All campaign – joining a growing list of local and international stars from the entertainment world.
Jagger signed up to the 1GOAL campaign after talking to children participating in 1GOAL and the Qatar FA’s Education at your Feet project in Johannesburg – and discovering that 72 million children around the world are denied an education.
Jagger said : “I am honoured to support 1GOAL. I love football and to raise awareness that 72 million children are denied an education through this global sport is truly amazing. I want to urge you – even if you are not a football fan like me – to sign up to this campaign and help leave a legacy from this World Cup - to get every child into school."
1GOAL is aiming to give all these children the chance of a different, brighter future. Millions of people around the world have already signed up – along with hundreds of famous figures from the worlds of football, entertainment and politics.
